Flat tyre on the road in Serbia – what to do
A flat tyre is the most common problem on the road. The most important thing is not to keep driving on it – a few hundred metres can ruin both the tyre and the rim.
1. Stop safely
Switch on the hazard lights, slow down gradually and move the car as far from traffic as possible – a lay-by, car park or the hard shoulder. On a motorway, never change a wheel on the side facing traffic.
2. Vest and triangle
Put on a reflective vest before getting out and set up the warning triangle far enough behind the car. Passengers get out on the side away from traffic.
3. Spare wheel or repair kit?
- You have a spare wheel and a safe place – changing it takes 15–20 minutes. A space-saver spare is usually only for short distances and lower speeds.
- You have a repair spray – it helps with small holes in the tread, not with sidewall damage or a burst tyre.
- You have neither, or the sidewall is damaged – call a mobile tyre fitter.
4. A mobile tyre fitter comes to you
In the Prevezi app choose “Mobile tyre service”. Your location is taken from the phone and you choose what you need: puncture repair, wheel change, inflation or “no spare wheel”. The request goes straight to tyre fitters nearby, they send offers with price and arrival time, and you choose. After you accept, you see the phone number and follow the arrival on the map – the app works in English.
5. When you need a tow truck instead
If the rim is damaged, the car is in a ditch or the tyre burst after hitting something, the car often cannot be driven. You can order a tow truck in the same app.
Puncture or burst tyre – the tyre fitter comes to your location, on the road or at home.
